Grainger County is in the process of applying for a grant through the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation Recreation Resources Division. The proposed project will help the development of an ADA compliant trail at Grainger County Park. The 100-acre park is situated on Cherokee Lake, which is leased property from TVA. The proposed 3,800 l.f. Phase I trail will wind throughout an undeveloped wooded area along the lake. The asphalt trail will be ADA compliant. Also included within the project will be ADA parking at the trailhead, necessary bollards, and signage. We are asking for the community’s input on the proposed improvements. If you have any questions, you may contact Grainger County Parks and Rec at (865) 828-9900.
